The correct use of title tags h1 h2 h3 h4 in web content

Effective search engine optimization involves many factors. Much consideration should be made to the proper use of heading tags, this help the search engines understands the structure of you page and the key parts you are highlighting as important. A good good use of h1 tag is the heading, it used to define title of the content of the page.

Each page of your website should have one H1 tag on it and it is best if this tag is not too many words long. Having the first paragraph of copy on your page as the H1 tag is not good for the SEO of your website as this doesn’t deliver a strong keyword message, unless of course you have a 30 word key phrase you want to rank for!

There can be six levels of headings (h1 to h6) that allow you to set titles and subtitles and rank the information in the document. Thanks to this, the headings of a document can be interpreted as its table of contents.

Here is a example of how you can use heading tags to structure your content:

  • H1 This is the main tag that is the introduction to the content
  • H2 This the sub heading after the H1 the can be many of these
  • H3 to be used after the h2
  • H4 to be used after the h3

The title link can also be use to identify the heading tag. The title tags should contain the keywords you are targeting for the page in questions.

Also you can use H1 to identify key heading in the content multiply times with in reason, its not recommending to be abused
