Facebook is not the first place you would think to go for SEO advice. However, the social media giant is looking to change that in the next few months. With the help of a company called Distilled, an online marketing agency, Facebook launched a new video that provides users tips on how to optimize their Facebook pages.
The video is aimed more at business owners, but it’s the first video Facebook has released providing users with this type of advice for optimizing their Facebook pages for search engines no its a good step.

We know one thing for sure Distilled have a massive project ahead, im sure this will be running for the next few years. I have been searching the internet (Google) i have only ever found my own Facebook page in the search engine. Facebook does not seem to rank anywhere for 99% of the search terms. As Google controls the internet it does make you think “is Google dropping then from the search?”.
After all im sure Google want to push its own social network Google+1 in the top search results. In the next few week Google will be rolling out a new search result, this will display Google+1 search results just above the ads in Google search its live now in parts of the US.
